Twinmotion 2023.2 Preview 1 is here!
We’re excited to announce that Twinmotion 2023.2 Preview 1 is now available, with some features we know you’ve all been waiting for! Plus, there’s more important news you need to hear.
Lumen has landed!
Ever since Unreal Engine broke new ground with UE5 and its breathtaking dynamic global illumination and reflections system, Lumen, you’ve been wanting it in Twinmotion too! Well, the time has come: With Twinmotion 2023.2 Preview 1, you can get your hands on Lumen in Twinmotion for the very first time.

Lumen enables indirect lighting to adapt on the fly to changes to direct lighting or geometry—for example, changing the sun’s angle with the time of day or opening an exterior door. It brings new levels of realism to real-time applications, and enables you to render gorgeous stills and videos with close to path-traced quality, but in a fraction of the time.

Other important news
With this release, we’re also making some changes to the Twinmotion lineup. The Twinmotion Trial is now the Twinmotion Community Edition. Like the Trial, Twinmotion Community Edition is free to use for an unlimited time for non-commercial projects (media output is still limited to 2K resolution and now carries a small, unobtrusive watermark), and for testing out new features.
And the reason that’s important news today, is that going forward, Preview releases will only be available via the Community Edition.
Simultaneous with this release, Twinmotion Cloud is leaving Early Access. As a result, it will not be available in the Community Edition, or in any previous Trial. You will, however, still be able to access any Presentations and Panorama Sets you have already uploaded to Twinmotion Cloud from a Trial version.
And the reason that’s important news today, is that going forward, Preview releases will only be available via the Community Edition.

Pricing and availability
There are also some pricing changes coming with the final release of Twinmotion 2023.2 later this fall. The MSRP for Twinmotion Commercial Edition will be $749 USD* for a perpetual license. This price includes all subsequent upgrade releases for one year.**
Starting with and including Twinmotion 2023.2, if you purchased your commercial license more than one year ago, upgrades to new full releases from any previous release will be $199 USD*; again, this includes all subsequent upgrade releases for one year. If the purchase date of your commercial license is within the last year when Twinmotion 2023.2 is released, you will automatically be granted the upgrade.
So without further ado, head off to your Epic Games launcher and download the Community Edition of Twinmotion 2023.2 Preview 1 to try out Lumen and more of the upcoming features.
