Twinmotion Community Challenge #10: ‘One Revit Model, Any Environment’

Are you ready to put those real-time archviz skills to the test? If you participated in our “One Archicad Model, Any Environment” contest, you might know where this is going.

If you’re new to these challenges, we usually provide a theme (perfect postcard, autumn, etc.) and you do the rest. But this time, we want you to let your mind wander. We’ll provide the Revit model and you create any environment or feeling you want. The grand prize is $500 (along with some other goodies). Because every great challenge needs an incentive, right?

The question now is: what will you build? Will it be a humid jungle, teeming with wildlife? A cliffside dwelling overlooking an oceanic expanse? Or maybe something high above the clouds—on a flying airship, perhaps?

We want to see it, and plan to feature some of the best entries on Twinmotion's social media channels.

If that sounds good, here are some more details.

Challenge #10: ‘One Revit Model, Any Environment’

Begin by accessing the Revit sample project. You’ll blend this with any environment you create with Twinmotion.

If you already use Revit, you should have access to the Snowdon Towers model; it’s included with Revit 2024, and you can take advantage of the Direct Link functionality to synchronize the project in Twinmotion. The Revit model can also be found here. However, you can still participate if you don’t use Revit; just download the .udatasmith file for the model below, which you can import directly into Twinmotion.
The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of $500 USD and a spiffy Epic Games/Twinmotion swag bag. Each finalist will also receive a swag bag—so even if you don’t make the top spot, there are goodies to be had.

Submission Details

Your entry must be one image with a 1920 x 1080 resolution created using Twinmotion. Images generated from the Trial, Education, and Commercial versions of the software are all accepted.

The challenge starts on June 19, 2023. The deadline for entry is Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11:59 PM EDT (UTC-4). Submit your entry on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, or ArtStation using the hashtag #TwinmotionChallenge in the text.

You can enter the following ways:
  • Post the image in the Facebook Twinmotion Community Group
  • Post the entry on your public-facing Twitter, LinkedIn, and ArtStation account tagging @Twinmotion
  • Post the entry on your Instagram account tagging @twinmotionofficial
You don’t have to post on all five social media platforms, but wherever you post, be sure to include #TwinmotionChallenge in the text so we can find it.

Rules

Since the rules vary for each challenge, we recommend reviewing the Terms & Conditions to ensure you’re adhering to all of the entry criteria. However, there is one rule that we’ll continue to call out.

Your image cannot include any trademarked branding or logos.

If there’s a car in your image, it cannot have a visible brand logo on it, such as on the front grill or back end of the car. You can still have the car in the scene, just not the logo. The same thing applies to people in your scene if they’re wearing branded sneakers. They can wear shoes that look like a well-known brand, but cannot have any logos or trademarked branding on them.

Images consisting of branding and logos will be disqualified from the competition. We don’t enjoy disqualifying people and really don’t want it to happen to you, so make sure to double-check your entry before submitting it.

The rules are available in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish (EU) (LATAM), and Turkish.

We’re looking forward to seeing your amazing creations! If you don’t have Twinmotion yet, download it here.
