World Architecture Day with Twinmotion: See what you might have missed

Twinmotion has had an action-packed week in honor of World Architecture Day, showcasing Epic Games’ ecosystem of visualization tools, including Twinmotion, Quixel Megascans, and Sketchfab.

The recently released Twinmotion 2022.2 is a powerful upgrade, enabling architects and other creators to take the quality of their real-time visualizations to the next level thanks to new integration with Sketchfab.

Added to connections with other Epic ecosystem tools including Quixel, RealityCapture, ArtStation, and more, this new integration boosts what’s possible for creators using Twinmotion.

In addition to thousands of materials, 3D plants, and objects from the Quixel Megascans library already accessible via Twinmotion, the Sketchfab integration provides drag-and-drop access to hundreds of thousands of free assets, making it even easier to bring your projects to life.

To celebrate World Architecture Day, our team at Twinmotion has built a virtual art gallery located in the center of a forest using assets from the Quixel Megascans library and Sketchfab.

We dedicated a whole week to highlighting the various components of Epic’s real-time visualization ecosystem, exploring how its different tools can help you to create immersive, photorealistic architectural visualizations.

Don’t worry if you missed anything—catch up on all the action here.

Monday

On Monday, we opened the doors to the virtual art gallery. Through Twinmotion’s Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram channels we shared rendering images from this art project, all of which were created using Twinmotion, Quixel Megascans, and Sketchfab. Check out a selection of the best ones below:

Using this ecosystem of tools, you can combine assets from various platforms in a wide range of categories such as buildings, food, and nature to produce high-quality photorealistic scenes, enabling you to achieve a new sense of realism with uncompromised quality.

Tuesday

Tuesday saw us take a tour behind the scenes of Monday’s visualizations, diving into the details around creating a breathtaking, scenic environment of natural beauty using Twinmotion and Quixel Megascans 3D-scanned assets.
Since Epic Games joined forces with Quixel last year,  Twinmotion users have had access to free-to-use commercial content from Quixel Megascans, straight from the Twinmotion library.   This puts a huge  collection of 2D and 3D scanned real-life objects and materials at the fingertips of creators, enabling them to produce photorealistic and true-to-life scene creations. The video above shows how assets from the Quixel Megascans library were used to add the rich foliage of the forest surrounding our virtual gallery.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, we showcased the gallery interior with immersive cloud-based panoramas, enabling visitors to experience the virtual design as if they were really there.
Wednesday also saw us showcase the power of Sketchfab and its smooth integration capabilities with Twinmotion.

The 3D model for our immersive virtual gallery was downloaded from Sketchfab, the largest platform for immersive and interactive 3D which empowers a new era of creativity by making it easy for anyone to publish and find 3D content and models online.

Take a walk through the gallery to see  a collection of stunning artworks from previous Twinmotion Community Challenges. Set in a digital recreation of a traditional-style art gallery, visitors can also take a walk outside to see more immersive artwork and take in a breathtakingly realistic scenic forest view.
