Twinmotion 2022.2.3 is now available.
If you're an existing user, you can download and install the latest release from the Epic Games Launcher on your computer.
If you're a new user, you can get started here.
Important: If you launch Twinmotion and the application does not appear after the splash screen, or the Twinmotion application window is very small, please refer to this article.
Open in Twinmotion Workflow
A new Open in Twinmotion workflow, available for Revit 2023.1, streamlines the Direct Link process and automatically launches Twinmotion.
In Revit, an Open in Twinmotion button has been added in the View tab in the Presentation panel.
When you press the Open in Twinmotion button, Twinmotion is launched and a window opens where you can choose to start an Existing project or create a New project. Starting a new project automatically creates a Datasmith Direct Link between Revit and Twinmotion.
To use this workflow, the latest Datasmith Exporter plugin from the Twinmotion plugin page for Revit must be installed. For more information about this new functionality and how to use it, please refer to the Twinmotion for Revit - FAQ.
The functionality may not work until Twinmotion is launched at least once. This problem occurs when the application is not installed by the local user of the computer, but by another user.
Special characters, including specific language characters in the Revit project file name, are not fully supported yet.
Timezone Database Update
Correct shadow representation is now based on an updated timezone database for 2022.
Jordan and Syria are abandoning the daylight savings time system and are changing to permanent standard time so they will not fall back on October 28, 2022.
In Tijuana, permanent standard time now starts at midnight instead of 01:00 AM.
The temporary advancement of clocks in central Mexico in the summer of 1931 is now treated as daylight savings time, instead of as two changes to permanent standard time.
Automatic ‘Ground' Placement for Virtual Reality (VR)
When in VR mode (either in a Local Presentation or in the Viewport) you can teleport to a saved media Image or Panorama in a Presentation. During this process, the camera is now automatically placed on the closest walking plane according to the Eye level height / Floor height setting of the VR headset.
This functionality only occurs when the camera is placed 10 meters or lower above the closest walking plane.
