Installing the Datasmith Plugin for Rhino on a Mac

Install the Datasmith Exporter plugin for Rhino on a Mac.

This page explains how to install and remove the Datasmith Exporter plugin for Rhino on a Mac.

Installing the Plugin

Before installing the plugin, remove any previous version of the Datasmith plugin that is installed.

  1. Download the Datasmith Exporter plugin for Rhino from the Twinmotion website.

  2. Go to the location on your machine where the file was downloaded, and double-click the UnrealDatasmithRhinoExporter_Mac_xx.zip file.

    Two plugin files for Rhino 6 and 7 are extracted in the UnrealDatasmithRhinoExporter_Mac_xx folder that is created:

    • DatasmithRhino6.macrhi

    • DatasmithRhino7.macrhi

  3. Double-click the plugin file for your version of Rhino to begin the installation.

    Once the installation is completed, the Plugin Installed window appears.

  4. Click the OK button.

    The next time you open Rhino, the Datasmith toolbar will be accessible.

When you open a project in Rhino, the Datasmith toolbar appears automatically.

Removing the Plugin

  1. Quit Rhino.

  2. In the Finder menu select Go > Go to folder .

  3. In the window that appears, type the following path:

    ~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/MacPlugIns/

  4. Click the Go button.

    A Finder window opens to the MacPlugins folder where the plugin is installed.

  5. Right-click the plugin and select Move to Trash , or select the plugin and drag it to the Trash.
