Aéroports de Paris : Terminal 2E

« With Twinmotion we were able to formalize our intent by taking a scale view of the entire project. »

Marc Fidelle won the 1987 AJAP prize for his architectural work, before joining Aéroports de Paris where he carried out numerous projects.

It was in 2009 that ADP was given the European Prize for Metal Construction for the rebuilding of the 2E Terminal pier at Charles-de-Gaulle airport terminal. A project where Marc Fidel was the main architect.

The new 2E Terminal pier is a project which has seen a lot of transformation throughout it’s development. Conceiving this kind of project is not a linear process, but one of elimination, whereby we progressively define things.

Twinmotion®2 allowed us to look at all the ways of checking out a large number of assumptions. What we wanted was a striking, curved space bathed in light. With Twinmotion®2 we were able to formalize our intent by taking a scale view of the entire project, in studying the materials and the quality of the spaces.

As a result we could study the building, down to the finest details, to the furniture. With simplification by LOD (Level of Detail) the display of complex models from afar is represented by just a few polygons, so we could therefore continuously visualize 2300 seats together inside the terminal with great ease.

Having an evolving interactive model, of which the quality of representation helps to review the architectural aspects, allows you to take a project much further.
